Europe’s largest trading industry conference, The Finance Magnates London Summit 2017, is less than a month away…

The summit will be held on November 14-15 at Old Billingsgate, a new venue expected to host over 2,000 delegates, 100 exhibitors, and 60 expert speakers.

Founded in 2012, London Summit has rapidly earned a position of the FX industry’s leading gathering, owing to a unique combination of business opportunities, upbeat networking sessions and top-notch content.

The event’s scope is steadily growing, and in 2017 two additions are of notice: an emphasis on blockchain technology and the growth of the institutional FX community at the conference.

However, the event’s core remains in the retail FX space, and the Summit will bring together top-tier retail brokers and IBs to pressing topics: cryptocurrency adoption, MiFID II, the expected restrictions by the FCA and ESMA on CFDs trading, and more.

The event’s signature CEO Roundtable will feature, among others, leaders of GAIN Capital, Plus500, CMC Markets, and more.

More gems from Agenda

Day one of the event will feature a Networking Blitz and opening party as attendees arrive in London. The next day includes a packed slate of over 20 content sessions promising a wide range of topics, speakers, and educational opportunities to learn from senior executives and experts. Registered attendees can start the conversation well ahead of the event by submitting questions to speakers directly via the agenda page.

Of special note are the following slots:

2017 has featured no shortage of game breaking developments for the foreign exchange industry and broader financial space. With the passage of the Global FX Code of Conduct back in May, the industry finally established a common set of guidelines for good practice in the FX market.

Discussing best execution practices and future clarity surrounding the Code will be a panel moderated by Pete Eggleston, co-Founder of BestX. The panel will include Adrian Bohler, Head of FX at BNP Paribas, Lee Sanders, Head of FX, FI Dealing at AXA IM, and Paul Chappel, Founder and CIO of C-View and a member of the ACI FX Committee.

In particular, the discussion will include a roundtable assessment of the adherence to the Code from banks and the buy-side.

Blockchain technology has been the biggest driver of research and development, permeating the trading and banking space, among others. Equinix, Cobalt, and Pico will lay out the present and future and blockchain technology in FX and beyond.

Multi-asset focus

What does it mean to be multi-asset in 2018? Constantly shifting regulations have necessitated clarity on the subject, given the wide range of instruments clients can choose from. Leader in derivatives Societe Generale will chair an upbeat market discussion ushering us to 2018.

Traders’ activity and ROI coming into play

The retail trading industry has no shortage of tools at its disposal, especially in 2017. However, despite an abundance of technologies such as sentiment-based trading, big data, and other utilities, traders can still improve their performance through unorthodox means. More specifically, this entails positive reinforcement and insights into trading psychology.

The summit will feature a panel from Ann Hunt, CEO of Chasing Returns, and Graeme Watkins, CEO of Valutrades. The two executives will be weighing the impact of psychology on retention, redeposits, and trading volume. Moreover, the panel will include an assessment of how traders can improve and increase their activities and performance.

Choosing the best of 2017

Finally, the 2017 summit will conclude with an annual awards show, recognizing the industry’s top performing companies for the entire year. Registered attendees can vote on their choices for the top companies in a total of thirteen different categories.

The categories include: best forex broker, best liquidity provider, best binary options service provider, most outstanding institutional FX product, best ECN, best connectivity provider, best payment provider, best PoP provider, best RegTech reporting solution, best FX trading platform, best multi-asset platform, best automated performance tool, and best CFDs broker, all for 2017.

Bottom Line

Whether you are a service provider interested in growing your business, a buy-side trader keen on staying abreast with peers and trends, or a fintech startup looking to showcase your wares to the right audience – the London Summit 2017 is an unmissed.
