Marco Baggioli appointed COO of ADS Securities

Marco Baggioli, currently ADS Securities’ Executive Managing Director – Global Head of Brokerage, has been appointed as the firm’s new Chief Operating Officer.

Baggioli’s new role sees him taking on additional direct line responsibility for Operations, Legal & Compliance, Product and Change, IT, Marketing and HR across the firm’s business lines. He will continue to be based in ADS Securities’ Abu Dhabi head office reporting to CEO Philippe Ghanem, and will also have dotted-line management responsibility for ADS Securities’ London and Hong Kong subsidiaries as a Board Director.

Commenting on the appointment, ADS Securities’ CEO and Vice-Chairman, Philippe Ghanem, said: “As ADS Securities continues to expand and develop, Marco Baggioli has become a highly valued member of the executive management team. His experience and knowledge of regulatory issues, market dynamics and prime brokerages brings essential skills to the company and in his new role he will be able to provide direct input and guidance as we take the business forward.”

With over 25 years of international financial services experience working for tier one investment banks, Baggioli joined ADS Securities London Limited in July 2015 as the London office COO, before moving to Abu Dhabi a year later. Previously, he was Global Head of FX Prime Brokerage at BNP Paribas and has held senior management positions at Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan, as well MonteTitoli SpA, the Italian Central Securities Depository, which he led through its privatisation from the Bank of Italy in 2000.

Commenting on his new appointment, Marco Baggioli said: “I wish to thank Philippe for his continued support and the new, and challenging opportunity, he has offered to me. We share a vision for an industry leading ADS Securities not only in terms of market share but and most importantly in terms of technology, innovation and profitability. In my expanded role, I will be focusing on delivering a highly automated, cost effective and technologically advanced infrastructure for ADS Securities business lines to thrive upon.”
